Final reflection on Model United Nation grade

The Model United Nation went to the Model United Nation Assembly held in Manila on March 9th. On MUNA conference, each of MUN members were assigned a country that he or she need to investigate on. I was chosen as the delegate of Pakistan. I had to research Pakistan's stance on Human right issue and its current situation. After researching about Pakistan, I collaborated with other MUN members from different schools and made resolutions for the Global issues. With the resolution that I came up with, MUN members debated on it and made different amendments. Despite it was my first time to join the actual MUNA conference, the support from Brent School Baguio MUN member and from local MUN members allowed me to enjoy the conference.

In the event of MUN Assembly, I had several opportunities to learn valuable lessons. First of all, by debating and lobbying with the students who I have never met with, I was able to develop my ability of making friends. Because I had to do opening speech in front of hundreds students, I was quite nervous. However, after successfully finishing the speech, I became proud of myself and learned that I could also be a public speaker. Learning and debating on global issue was fun but above all, it was experience and lessons that made me MUN valuable.
Secondly, MUN taught me the importance of broadening one's point of view. Basically, MUN is all about being other nations opinion. Thus, I had to think in a way that other nations would think. This experience allowed me to understand other people's opinion and taught me how to harmonize my idea with others.
The experience in MUN seemed as if the effort have paid off. If I did not try, I could not have made it. However, with the help of others, I continued to be engaged in MUN and finally be a proud candidate of GIN. As a whole MUN taught me the importance of commitment.
